Nisos Joins WEF Cybercrime Atlas to Provide Human Risk Lens to Cybercrime Investigations

ARLINGTON, VA., April 8, 2025Nisos announced that it has joined the Cybercrime Atlas, an initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF), to contribute a human risk perspective to cybercrime investigations and to collaborate with global stakeholders and experts to disrupt cybercriminal activity and mitigate the impact of cyber attacks globally.

The Cybercrime Atlas, hosted at WEF’s Centre for Cybersecurity, leverages open-source research to create actionable insights into the cybercriminal ecosystem. Membership is by invitation only, and members of the Atlas community include organizations pivotal in identifying and dismantling cybercriminal activities. The initiative seeks to build an international, action-focused repository of cybercrime intelligence, promoting cooperation among WEFinvestigators, law enforcement, financial institutions, and businesses at both national and international levels.

“Nisos’ ‘superpower’ is our ability to get to the who behind digital and human threats,” said Ryan LaSalle, CEO of Nisos. “The Cybercrime Atlas’ goals align perfectly with Nisos’ mission to provide companies with adversary insights so they can better defend themselves, and we’re honored to leverage our human risk expertise in collaboration with other Cybercrime Atlas members to disrupt global cybercrime.”

While cybercrime is a global issue, knowledge of cybercrime is often fragmented. Additionally, while cybercrime is transnational, responses are localized. Collaboration between investigators provides the systemic knowledge and context necessary to understand the extent of threats and cybercriminal groups’ activities. Coordinated response efforts also make cybercrime disruption more effective.

“The Cybercrime Atlas capitalizes on open-source research and the extensive knowledge of leading companies and experts to map cybercrime networks,” said Seán Doyle, Lead of the Cybercrime Atlas at the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Cybersecurity. “The insights generated are supporting greater cooperation between the private sector and public sector to combat cybercrime.”
